As a researcher and advocator of truly organic systems one of the main errors in modern farming is that of the breeding of short straw varieties of cereal crops. The main source of fertiliser on a mixed farm is straw. The cheapest form of building houses with the best insulation properties is with straw. The traditional roofing material of thatching with straw is a very good one and is only attainable with long straw – Thus
