Rocket stoves: tin and clay

This innovative rocket stove has been developed at Well End and has now been fine tweaked to boil a LITRE of water in 3 minutes

Bring a tin: bring a 5 gallon size tin or use one of ours to learn how to convert it into a rocket stove using plain clay or different insulating fillers. This stove is used in Africa and cow dung cannon balls can be added for extra heat for cooking for full families.

This special technique facilitates the pot to sit right inside the rocket stove for greater heat transfer. A secondary twig fire is self ignited at this level for superfast boiling.

This 3 hour course costs £30 each, children over 14 welcome from 9.30am – 1pm  on the Well End Micro-farm.  Please email Richard to book rhiggins@suaglon.co.uk
